How to get a STREAK FREE fake tan!
August 20th, 2010This summer I have noticed many things about overly zealous beach goers. Of all these things none stand out more than the obvious inability people seem to have with applying self tanners. I have compiled an easy 4 step process that anyone can follow.
- EXFOLIATE EXFOLIATE EXFOLIATE!
- USE A COLOR TINTED FAKE TANNER
- WEAR LATEX WHEN APPLYING!
- If you still are not getting it
Using scrubs, particularly sugar and salt scrubs is a great way to get rid of dead skin and dirt before you tan. I can’t stress this enough! DHA, which is the prominent ingredient in self tanner gets absorbed very easily by the proteins in dead skin and dirt. One thing I have to mention though, make sure your scrub contains no oil, oil tends to leave a greasy residue on the skin causing the tanner to streak more often.
Although the reasoning for this is obvious I will go ahead and explain anyways.(you’d be amazed at some of the questions I get asked)Use a tinted fake tanner so that you can actually see where you are applying it! This will help avoid uneven application and blotchy areas. Make sure to rub it into your skin in circular motions.
This helps to keep the tanner from soaking into your hands which can be unattractive and annoying. You can also use liquid latex, or just avoid rubbing in altogether and use a spray tan.
, well there might be more of a problem than just the fake tanner. However, you can always get St. Tropez Tan Detox for 35$, which will help you wipe away the blotchier areas so that you can redo them later.
Thanks for reading guys! and good luck in your tanning endeavors!
